If you're like me and you've tried Beat Saber in your HTC Vive or Oculus Rift, you can't wait to try more songs. After you've calmed down from all the sweating and heart-pounding sneaky exercise the game provides, you might want to check out the instructions below on how to download and add custom songs to Beat Saber.
How to Add Custom Songs
Using the Song Loader plugin
To prepare Beat Saber to accept custom songs, you must first download and install a small open source plugin created for this particular purpose. You can find the Song Loader Plugin at Github. For first-time installations, follow these steps.
- Download the first installer zip file.
- Make sure Beat Saber is not running.
- Extract the contents of the zip file into Beat Saber's installation folder. This will vary depending on whether or not you have Beat Saber installed via the Oculus Store or Steam. You are looking for the folder that contains Beat Saber.exe.
- Dragged Beat Saber.exe above IPA.exe. Yes, drag one EXE onto the other.
That's it! Although there will now be a Beat Saber (Patch and Launch) shortcut in the folder, you can still just launch the game as usual.

Download custom songs
In order to find songs that work with Beat Saber, you can visit a site like Beat Saver, which collects custom songs, with ratings and comments. All songs on Beat Savers are downloaded as zip files and contain a folder with several files including the song inside. To install the songs in Beat Saber, simply extract the zip file in the Custom songs folder created by the Song Loader plugin.
Now just launch Beat Saber and the new custom songs will be available to choose from the song selection list. A word of warning, most Beat Saver Custom Songs are not for the faint of heart. Many of them are only available on Hard or Expert difficulty.
You can also use Beast Saber
Beast Saber is an all-in-one tool that lets you find custom cards (songs) and also allows the community to rate them, sort them by genre, and recommend songs to others. It will take inspiration from the aforementioned Beat Saver website, but integrate things better with your game.
To get started you will need to download Mod Assistant or the Beast Saber Application BeatDrop2. We recommend using Mod Assistant. Download the program, then run it. You don't need to install anything, and it will automatically try to locate your Beat Saber installation. If you need it, point it to the right folder, then accept the terms and conditions.
Click the Mods button, then click Install to automatically install all pre-selected mods. The next time you launch the game, you will see a new “Get More Songs” button has been added to the main menu, and getting your new songs is as easy as clicking on it.
