Join a friend as you journey through the many adventures of One Piece: Pirate Warriors 4, featuring the Straw Hat Crew and many other characters you'll meet along the way. You can unlock a handful of notable characters that you meet throughout the game and use them in-game. You have access to a local co-op mode and you can play with your friends online.
You can check to see which chapters and missions you can jump into a friend to play game in the bottom section of each mission. You should see if you can play it online, how many people can play it with you online, and if you can play it cooperatively with a friend. For local co-op, all you have to do is hit the corresponding button on the top right of your screen, and get a second controller, and you should be good to play with your friend in a format local.
The four multiplayer modes include:
- Giant Boss Battle: Four players work together to battle a huge enemy.
- Joint Bounty Battles: Four players attempt to survive the match to achieve the highest bounty among those in the group.
- Timed Defense Battle: Four players defend a territory in a game against multiple enemies while trying to survive the time limit.
- Territory Battle: Three compromised teams of four players must defend their territory against the other teams, and the team with the largest territory at the end is the winner.
These modes are not unlocked automatically. You will need to go through the game's main story, the Drama Diary, to unlock these game modes to make them playable.
